Creating a New Map for Killstreak
CHECKING IN
Hi, I’m ToneyDiamond225. I recently got Minecraft Java Edition and, with a friend's help, installed the Feather Launcher for easy mod access. Now, let’s dive into how I created a map for LegoBro’s game, Killstreak.
GETTING STARTED
As a Minecraft Java newbie, I was eager to build my first map. Inspired by the ban of Joey Chestnut from the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, I decided to design a map based on the event. I initially focused on basic tools like copy, paste, stack, and rotate.
BUILDING THE MAP
I started with one of my friends who handled wall patterns while I worked on competition tables. I made a table with hot dogs, cups of water, and a large dispenser, but the giant Steve I built for the competition belt was more decorative than functional.
After removing the giant Steve, I experimented with floor designs but ended up undoing most of it. I then decided to create condiment sprays coming from the walls, allowing players to walk on and battle on them. Feedback from LegoBro and ThatGreenGem led me to add a symmetrical table on the opposite side of the map.
I initially struggled with wall pattern copying but discovered Axiom’s rotate feature. I simplified the condiment sprays to single blocks and adjusted the table heights. A picnic table was added to fill a large gap, which LegoBro helped design.
FOOD, SO MUCH FOOD
Building food items is one of my favorite things to do. Making food is so funny and silly at times. I crafted a large cheeseburger, watermelon, grapes, and an oversized tray of eggs as a nod to the “egg lineage.” After adding cupcakes and other items, we realized the jump boost effect on the picnic table felt forced. We replaced it with jump pads, and after final tweaks, the map was complete.
THE MAP IS DONE
The map will be available once the new Killstreak update releases. Thanks for reading this blog. I hope to write another soon. Until then, enjoy Minecraft!
